Tyros ((ギリシア語:Τυρός)) is a tourist town and municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality South Kynouria, of which it is a municipal unit.〔(Kallikratis law ) Greece Ministry of Interior 〕 At the 2001 census, the population of the municipal unit was 2116. The municipal unit Tyros consists of the communities Tyros, Pera Melana. It lies in the heart of Kynouria, between the Parnon mountains and the Myrtoan Sea. In the region of Tyros the Tsakonian language, that originates from the ancient Doric dialect, is spoken. In Tyros will see every Easter one of the most famous Greek Easter traditions, on Good Friday procession of the Epitaph on the coastal road of the town with the ships came from watercraft. On Saturday evening the burning of Judas in the sea on a specific project and Tyros bay filled with thousands of candles that symbolize the souls of lost sailors and fishermen of Tyros.
